This story is very eye opening. Everybody needs to evaluate their current level of sugar intake—and NOT replace it with artificial sweetener. The following two quotes stuck out to me:
Americans consume on average more than 600 calories per day from added sugar, equivalent to a whopping 40 teaspoons.
Notice that says added sugar. The second:
